I'm tattooed and pierced, and loving it.... My style is pretty lame, usually some bowling or band t-shirt and jeans... though I clean up well when I want...
I'm bowling in only one league this fall, the Sunday Night Merchant which is a mixed handicap league
I've been bowling since 2001... That is when I joined my first league and became more serious about it... In October of 2005 I shot my first 300 and pretty much had the best year of my bowling career during the 05-06 season.... The best news is on 2/22/07 I shot my first 800 series... 826... Which tied me for the Mass Women's State Record....
Besides bowling, I just try to have fun doing whatever I can.... Hanging with friends, watching movies, listening to music, reading.... I love football (The Eagles) and Baseball (Red Sox).... I'll watch any sport except basketball...
I'm pretty big on being free and accepting people as they are... I try not to judge (unless your an **** haha)... I also believe it's important to do what you can to be happy.... even if maybe it doesn't fit into the standard house with the white picket fence ideal...
Music:Manson, System of a Down, Rammstein, Prodigy, The Monkees, 3 Days Grace, oldies, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s.. I know I'm getting old because my music is started to get played on classic rock stations!! I love most music... Really I'm not particular about most things, I try to enjoy what I can for what it is worth...
Movies:Too many to list... I especially love Horror and Comedy... If something is twisted I will adore it!!
TV:You probably should ask what I don't watch... My standard favs are Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Survivor (though that is kinda boring me), NCIS, CIS, CIS:NY, NIP/TUCK... Gotta love having a DVR because without it, I would not get to watch half my shows... I like Family Guy, South Park, I love Adult Swim, including Aqua Teen (#1 in the Hood... G)....
Books:Historical fiction (Victorian Era and prior) is my fav... I read anything though...
Likes:Things that are good: Steak, SoCo, Comfy PJ's, my big black boots, purses, darts with the GTP boys, Chocolate cake shots with the GTP girls, bowling great, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Midsummer Night Candles, fast cars with 5 speeds, HUGSSSSSSS...
Dislikes:Things that are bad: Judgmental people, DRAMA!!!, knee pain, ****ing up that important shot, chicken skin/dark meat chicken, too much gin (cuz then I get nasty), my clutziness....
Hobbies:Bowling is my life, not just a hobby... But I always try to enjoy whatever it is I'm doing, darts, pool, etc...
Vices:Martinis, Gin, SoCo, and White Merlot...
Virtues:I would not consider myself virtuous in ANY sense....
Heroes:Heroes are the people like you and me that go out everyday and make things happen....
As you can tell I have not posted at all as of late. Mainly because I have nothing to post. This is one of the most dismal seasons I have had. I ended last season at 210 and all in all it was a pretty successful year. This year I am around 185, barely able to shoot 600. My shoulder has been a mess all year thanks to arthritis and honestly it just got into my head not allowing me to overcome my problems. I have had only three 600 series this season. I did have my 2nd highest game ever - 289 - but a solid 8 in the tenth which took away the elusive 290 game ruined the joy of it being my 2nd highest game. I did manage to shoot a 278 game as well, but none of this has said much for my consistency.
Last night went better, and I am glad to say I finally shot a 700 this season (barely a 700 at 703). My first game was a 266, then a 235, and a 202 to end the night. I am surprised considering I haven't thrown a bowling ball in 21 days thanks to the multiple storms and league cancellations. Yeah Yeah, I could have practiced but I didn't. Also I could NOT find a line during practice, but it didn't take long to find one once the game started. Overall I threw like four or five crappy balls. Mainly the last game I was leaving 7 and 10 pins, which are always a joy. The best part was I shot the 700 on lanes 3 and 4, which are in the infamously bad section of the alley. It would only have been more impressive if I did it on lanes 1 and 2, haha.
I am hoping next week goes as well (or as close as possible to well). I must say after losing close to 20lbs my knee is not as bad as it was, but I also bowl less so it is probably a good combo.
On personal note, I have one semester left of college (thankfully) but then I start graduate school. At least I can work full-time then, since I have been unemployed for way too long with no part-time job prospects out there (I will be lucky to find a full-time job). Tis the season for tournaments, but not for me. I had to cancel Vegas (oh the horror) and there will be no association tournament for me this year or states (since they need the $$ so early). Oh well, there is always next year...
Well, I must say I am not sad to see the end of the season coming... Not that it matters since I decided to bowl the summer after all (thanks to being asked after having a few martinis).... Oh well, should be fun either way....
Rutland was a dismal failure, but I bowled better than I usually do... As I have always stated I am a house bowler... I did throw well at times, but for every 3 good balls I would throw a bad one and half the time I got 10 pins.... My new ball was a wonderful choice on my part... The ball I originally ordered was no longer made, so I got a Jazz which is kinda silly looking with its picture of a sax and stuff... But whatever the ball is nice....
Took that ball to league with me two Sundays ago, and shot 730... Only ball I used, and it carried great.... Last night the lanes were oilier, and it didn't have a super great reaction but I still shot 647... The carry sucked though.... I'm just keeping that ball and my plastic in my locker for now on and not worry about bringing anything else until the Fall season....
My average right now is 210.8 something... so I'm still high average but my friend Ryan is close....
I haven't decided what I want to do for the fall yet.... They are talking about moving the PBA league to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays which would be sweet... Right now it is Wednesday at 9 p.m. and I really have no desire to be out that late.... Plus, money was an issue and it was too much bowling with Fridays and Sundays.... But I think next year that may be all that I bowl.... I enjoy the challenge and I have had some great games and series, but lack consistency on the shots...
Anyways.... so pretty much bowling and life are mundane but thats okay.... My eyes are focused on Vegas in 2009 and I'm thinking of putting in two teams since I have found alot of people interested in going....
so i show wilson up a little bit tonight. shot 640 in league with a 275 game in the middle. 205 to start and hurt my in the third game or i would have shot 700 easy.
Just so you know that I was the person that knows you that wilson was talking about from down on the cape. Hope to see you at the tournament this month.
Wow...long time no see. I thought that you were placed into the witness protection program or something ;)
